Description:

FOUND IMAGE POSTCARD, US - OUTDOOR

For this swap, send ONE (1) found image postcard to ONE (1) Partner. It should be sent naked unless your Partner’s Profile indicated that they like hand-made postcards to be mailed in an envelope. Let’s make this second round an outdoor theme. This can be any outdoor scene or item that is normally found or used outdoors.

Find a postcard size outdoor image that you think your Partner will like, glue it to a suitable backing for mailing, and send it off naked and with a message. I usually write about what the image is of and where I found it. The focus of the postcard should be the image and not stickers and stamps. It should be a picture you “found” in a magazine, book, etc. and not a photo you took or a drawing or painting you did. I find most of the images I use in books that were taken out of circulation from the library, because they were badly damaged. I have also used flyers, programs, and magazines.

Be careful of glossy pages from magazines. Some glues do not adhere well to them. I gently ‘de-gloss’ the backs of those images by lightly going over them with very fine (800) grit sandpaper. I then use a multi-purpose spray adhesive. I let them set for a couple days until the adhesive is dry enough that it no longer smells before mailing them. I have made the Signup and Send By dates far enough apart to allow for drying time.

I am calling this a Type 3 swap, not because there is a lot of construction involved but considerable time can be expended in finding a good image to satisfy the swap requirements and your Partner’s likes.

Unrated new users are welcome to try their hand.
